How to use cup

Step-wise instructions on how to use your SHORDY menstrual cup:

Step 1: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

Step 2: Sterilize the menstrual cup in boiling water for 5-10 minutes before the first use.

Step 3: Fold the menstrual cup. There are various folding methods, but the most common ones are the C-fold, the punch-down fold, and the 7-fold. Choose the fold that is most comfortable for you.

Step 4: Find a comfortable position. You can stand, sit on the toilet, or squat with your legs apart.

Step 5: Relax your vaginal muscles and insert the folded menstrual cup into your vagina. You can insert it like a tampon, but make sure the cup is fully open and has created a seal around your vaginal walls. You can also twist the cup or move it up and down to help it open.

Step 6: Check the position and the seal. You should not be able to feel the cup if it is inserted correctly. The cup should be positioned below your cervix and create a seal around the vaginal walls.

Step 7: Wear the cup for up to 12 hours, depending on your menstrual flow. You can wear it while sleeping, swimming, and exercising.

Step 8: To remove the cup, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, and then bear down your muscles to bring the cup closer to the vaginal opening.

Step 9: Pinch the base of the cup to release the seal and gently pull it out. Pour the menstrual blood into the toilet or sink.

Step 10: Rinse the cup with cold water first, then wash it with warm water and mild soap. Sterilize the cup again by boiling it in water for 5-10 minutes.
